University of Cambridge PhD Internships, Placements and Knowledge Exchange Activities - Open for Entries
The Cambridge ESRC Doctoral Training Centre provides access to top quality, highly talented, skilled and knowledgeable young researchers who can help drive innovation and growth in your organisation.
Available schemes:
  • Cambridge ESRC Internship scheme
This Scheme provides Cambridge DTC ESRC funded PhD students with the opportunity to spend between 1-6 months in a non-academic organisation, generate real outputs, adding to the evidence base within the organisation.  DTC internships receive funding from the core Cambridge ESRC DTC grant.
  • Collaborative PhD research
There is opportunity for collaborative partners to work with a high-quality PhD student undertaking cutting-edge research relevant to the priorities and objectives of the organisation. DTC students must receive at least 50% of their funding from the core DTC grant.
  • Networking / Knowledge exchange activities
These are opportunities for organisations to work with the University in training and knowledge exchange activities of mutual interest in the form of workshops, seminars and networking events.
Cambridge ESRC doctoral training studentships are awarded annually to outstanding candidates. The DTC sponsors research in the following areas:
Criminology & Criminal Justice
History (Economic and Social History only)
Land Economy
Politics and International Studies
Social Anthropology
The Cambridge ESRC DTC is very much committed to the idea of 'real world research' and we want our students to gain experience of working with outside partners, however briefly. But we also strongly believe that there can be mutual benefits in such collaboration.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss ideas for collaboration with you. If you have any questions and for more information please contact Konstantina Stamati, Cambridge ESRC DTC - Collaborations Manager at ks712@cam.ac.uk.
